Lauren here with your weekend listing of shows. As always, we’ve got three days full of diverse shows featuring a solid mix of local and touring acts. Anyone who says that the Pittsburgh music scene is dead obviously has no clue. Make this the weekend that you leave your comfort zone and try something new… there’s so much talent in our city!

Night of the Living Dems [6pm // Allegheny Elks Lodge // $20]
A most amazing series of events at one event! Allegheny Elks Lodge #339 (400 Cedar Ave, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212) First, an “Early to Bed” dance party from 6-9pm with DJ Zombo playing nothing but the best dance tunes from all eras and genres (plus your requests). It’s like a happy hour mixed with a wedding reception!
Then at 9pm, it really kicks in. Live performances from:

Danse Macabre 2: a gothic/industrial Halloween party [8pm // Cattivo // 21+ // $15]
Night Sky Productions presented the first Danse Macabre at Cattivo in 2015, featuring two floors of gothic industrial bands and DJs plus an awesome costume contest. We took a year off in 2016, but now we’re back for round two, and we’ve teamed up with Requiem, Cattivo’s monthly goth/industrial night.
- From Baltimore, we have Ego Likeness on Metropolis Records. This electronic rock/ darkwave band was formed in 1999 and features the vocals of Donna Lynch and the guitar and production of Steven Archer, with live drummer Mike K Johnson and live guitarist Rick Furr.
A bit closer to home, we have the Pennsylvania project Red Lokust, an electro industrial collaboration between Jim Semonik (Distortion Productions/Rein[Forced]/Electronic Saviors) and Lee Lauer (Aslan Faction).
There are also two floors of gothic/industrial dancing, featuring DJ Crashzer0 and DJ Eclipse – Pgh (current residents of Requiem), as well as Pittsburgh goth/industrial DJs DJ KellyA, DJ Callisto, DJ TFS, and DJ Samarai.
Paradise Kitty [8pm // Hollywood Lanes // $10]
Straight out of LA and UNofficially endorsed by GnR it’s the world’s best all-female Guns n’ Roses tribute PARADISE KITTY! Performing APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION live in its entirety! Special Guests are the Delaneys, Shadow Event, & Burned.
Full Moon Gathering [9pm // Howlers // 21+ // $5]
This night will be hypnotically heavy with bluesy, metal doom and an apropos full moon at Howlers.

An EARLY (7pm-11pm) and intimate punk rock n roll show for all. This is an all-ages, BYOB basement show @ LFG in the BROOKLINE neighborhood of Pittsburgh featuring spectacular performances by JC Nickles (unplugged), Crooked Cobras, Mala Sangre (from Erie, PA), and Dead River! $10 and BYOB! Now that there is VALUE!
Jeff Betten Record Release [8pm // James Street // $10]
Jeff Betten of Misra Records is releasing a new record and celebrating his birthday! Come by and watch an incredible ensemble of musicians featuring Nathan Zoob of Wreck Loose / Zoob, André Kristofer Buccini Costello of André Costello and the Cool Minors, Dan Styslinger of delicious pastries / Seedy Players, Justin Nelson of Searights, and Dhruva Krishna of MANIC SOUL! They will be playing original works and songs from their favorite acts of the early 2000s!
