Today’s Millvale Music Festival Inquisition features Chris Bowers, who is one of the guitarists for Kleptosonic. He and the rest of the band will be playing at Strange Roots Experimental Ales beginning at 2:30.

List the names of every band that you’ve ever played in ever.

What was the artist, album, or song that inspired you to play/write music?

Nirvana‘s Bleach album was a game changer for me. I still get chills listening to School, Negative Creep, Scoff, and of course the opening track blew.

What is your favorite piece of merch that you own?

Definitely my Dinosaur Jr. Lighter. It always comes in handy when I have to light up a cigarette.

Tell us one thing about the Pittsburgh music scene that could be better and one thing about the scene that you love.

The one thing that could be better about Pittsburgh is having more venues. You can never have enough venues.

The one thing that I love is the community. I feel like we’re one big family.

What’s something about you/your band that you think people should know that maybe they don’t?

We’re always aiming to push ourselves better musically.

If you had to pick only one of your songs for people to listen to, which one would it be?

Panic Attack. It always feels great starting out with that song and seeing the crowd move around.

Who would you cast in the movie of your band?

Jack Nicholson, Christian Bale, Rick Moranis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger

How does your family react to your music? Do they come to your shows?

All of our families have been supportive by coming to numerous of our shows.

What band or artist have you seen live the most number of times?

It’s a tie between Dinosaur Jr and Pentagram.

What’s the craziest thing that has happened to you at a show as a performer or spectator?

Our first bass player (who shall not be mentioned) got into a heated argument with the entire band about not selling enough tickets. We tried to cool him down, but he quit the band within seconds before we went on to play our gig at The McKeesport Palisades. Finally, halfway through the gig the power goes out for only 2 minutes and comes back on. That was the most challenging test of the bands career.

Does your band have any shows coming up or other newsworthy events (album release, etc)?

At this time Kleptosonic only has their performance at the Millvale Music Festival.
