It was a bit of an open secret that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was in town recently, filming for his TV show Parts Unknown. Sightings were scarce and his itinerary was kept very hush hush. However, those who are die-hard fans of Lady Beast, one of Pittsburgh’s best and most popular metal bands, received an invitation to support Lady Beast and be part of an Anthony Bourdain taping.
Although Mr. Bourdain himself didn’t show up, his camera crew was present at Gooskīʻs to record Lady Beast ripping through two songs in front of family and close friends for a future episode of Parts Unknown. With any luck, this coverage will deservedly propel Lady Beast higher into the metal stratosphere!
This isn’t the only big exposure Lady Beast has received recently: last month they were featured on Bandcamp as one of “Twelve Metal Bands That Put The Emphasis on Shredding.” If you are not yet familiar with Lady Beast, you should check out their latest EP, Metal Immortal. Their next local appearance will be on September 30th at the Descendants of Crom metal festival. Itʻs a great line-up all around, so don’t miss it!
