Today’s Inquisition focuses our prying eyes on the drummer behind the punk-rockin’ Rocky Dennis Face!

What are the names of every band that you’ve played in? Ever!

Femur, Nocturnal / Lacking Restraint (same band essentially,) NOTALENT. The HiGH, Rocky Dennis Face

What was the artist, album, or song that inspired you to play/write music?

As a kid my first tape was Rancid’s “Let’s go.” Unfortunately my first CD was Kriss Kross, but I don’t think they inspired me to play music. Although Rancid did inspire me, my second CD was Megadeth’s “So Far, So Good… So What!” which made me want to play fast, distorted palm mutes so badly! I was also very obsessed with Green Day, as I would often get caught stealing my older sister Randi’s “Kerplunk” tape.

What single piece of merch in your collection is your favorite?

My NOFX “PUNKERS” (Snickers logo) shirt from an early year that they played at  Warped Tour. ’97 or ’98 I think? Anyway, it was worn so much that it got bleached and ripped so badly that I cut out the screen print logo & I still have it on my wall. Also, my old band “The HiGH” got basic, white shirts that a friend of my ex-girlfriend made into custom tie dye or “HiGH Dye” shirts which was cool. Thanks Andrea!

Tell us one thing about the Pittsburgh music scene that could be better and one thing about it that you love.

I wish the bigger venues and production companies wouldn’t only book you if you can sell 100 tickets. If your band works hard, practices, and sounds good you should get a shot.

The thing I do love is all the local bands that we are lucky enough to play with and even some of the dives that we play at. Everyone in the bands and the crowds treat each other with respect, like family. Big crowds are nice, but we can have an awesome show with just the other bands and their girlfriends. Lol.

What’s something about you/your band that you think people should know that maybe they don’t?

We rock people’s faces and ride with the people.

If you had to pick only one of your songs for people to listen to, which one would it be?

We actually just released it on Facebook and ReverbNation, it’s called “SUV’s & Reality T.V.” Check it out!

Who would you cast in the movie of your band?

(My favorite question of all! lol)
Well, for myself I would love to say Leonardo DiCaprio or Mark Wahlberg, but that would never happen, lol. So I’d probably have to say Jesse Eisenberg or something. Maybe Kira Knightly? She’s got range! For Sancho (lead singer/guitarist Scott LeClair) I would pick Daniel Craig. I think they look alike. We got a new bass player, Ben Vorp, soooo I’ll have to sayyy ummmm… Justin Timberlake! 😂He has the tight curls like him.

Rocky Dennis Face: The Movie! (not too hard on the eyes 😉)

How does your mom/family react to your music? Do they come to your shows?

My moms is basically our “Momager.” She loves everything that we write and comes to almost all of the shows along with the rest of my family. All very big supporters.

What band or artist have you seen live the most number of times?

GWAR! 9 TIMES!!!! 9 TIMES???? 9 TIMES!!!!
(We assume that he’ll be making that TEN times when Gwar brings the “Blood of Gods” Tour to Mr. Smalls on October 23rd with Ghoul, Doyle, and U.S. Bastards…)

What’s the craziest thing that has happened to you at a show as a performer or as a spectator?

Ummm… one time a girl (you know who you are) jumped on stage at Mr. Smalls and started stripping. We all messed up our song while staring, but the bouncer pulled her down before it got too juicy. Lol

Be sure to stay posted, Punksburgh will be bringing you the latest on Rocky Dennis Face’s forthcoming DEBUT album from Bottle Alley Records and companion record release party!

Until then, be sure to catch them when they open up for Greece’s wild rockers, Barb Wire Dolls on October 29th at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls with thrashers by way of Moscow & Milan, SVETLANAS, & South Korea’s 57 for an all-ages,  internationally good time! You can even get discounted tickets from the guys ($13 vs. $15 at the door or $17.10 online) & they even have merch of their very own now for you to own! Grab a RDF t shirt at the show for only 10 USD!
