TOYS for TOTS SKATE JAM and ARTish SHOW 2017 [1pm / Scumbags / $10 or equal value donation]

Scumbag Skatepark is throwing their Annual Toys for Tots Skate Jam and ARTish show. Troika skateboards will be hosting the skate jam, the skate park will open at 1 with a BEST TRICK CONTEST ($250 cash prize) at 3. There is a $10 entry fee or toy donation of equal value.

The ARTish show will be held upstairs. There is plenty of room so if you will be entering a skateboard into the show you are also welcome to bring other pieces of art as well. It will be $10 or a toy donation of equal value to enter the ARTish show. You can use your own skateboard or we can provide you with a blank deck for you to use at your disposal. You are are encouraged to sell your art. You keep 100% of your asking price. For more details contact Chelsea at Piece must be submitted by December 7.

You better show up ready to rock. Doors open at 5, music starts at 5:30. Chicago metal band Psychostick is supported by California hardcore Arsonists get all the girls, Long Island metal Kissing Candice, Raven Black, local punkers The Slobberknockers, and local metal Sarlacc.

Homegrown Hard Rock Series and Mr. Smalls Presents Cannibal Christmas Bash – Post Mortal Possession /w Video Tapes – Band & Leprosy at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls. The doors will open at 7, with music beginning at 8pm. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance (available both from band members and online) or $12 at the door.


Chris Brokaw “Canaris” LP Release Party w/ Expires [8pm / Black Forge Coffee House]

Release Party for Chris Brokaw‘s “Canaris” LP (Omentum #4) announced by Omentum Records. Expires will also be there supporting and releasing their new album “Fake Sigils” on cassette.


The Goodfoots (W/ Inco Fido) live at The Baltimore House [8:30pm / The Baltimore House / $5]

Just $5 gets you in to see local rock and roll group INCO FIdO alongside our local boogaloo/funky jazz group The Goodfoots. Come on out for a rad time.


Serpent Lord/St. Dude/JaketheHawk at Excuses [9pm / Excuses / $5 / 21+]

This event promises to get LOUD at Excuses Bar and Grill in Southside. This show features local stoner rock bands Jakethehawk and St. Dude supporting stoner rock/metal band Serpent Lord. $5 gets you in to experience some rawk.


The Mondaze [9pm / Double L / Free / 21+]

If you’re looking for a show where you can sit (or stand) with your friends and enjoy a beer local rockers The Mondaze will be performing all night at the Double L in Millvale starting at 9pm. The show is free to attend, but food and drinks are on you. If you want to know more about The Mondaze, check out our interview with them.

Give Me Your Soul II – Pop Up Kitchen [2pm / Onion Maiden]

Onion Maiden and Skull Records are pairing together to bring you “an evening of southern comfort food inspired cuisine and southern soul, metal, and punk rock tunes”. Sounds rad to us! DJ Skull and DJ Soulful Fella will be there spinning records from 2pm-7pm, and Onion Maiden will be bringing the grub.



Off With Their Heads, Mobina Galore, Nightmarathons, Playoff Beard [8pm / Howlers / $12 / 21+]

Minneapolis self-described Genius-core band Off With Their Heads return to Pittsburgh along with Canadian punk rockers Mobina Galore (a personal favorite, just tossing that out there) and join up with locals Nightmarathons (a melodic punk rock band) and Playoff Beard (poppy punk rock). They’ll be rocking out at Howlers with music starting at 8 pm. Tickets are available online.
