September is #SharePGHMusicMonth and everyone here at Punksburgh is highlighting our favorite bands. Today, Pat from the Shutouts and Playoff Beard shares one of his.
If you’re like me, you love having fun and drinking beers and listening to music with your friends, but you don’t have a lot of time for guitar solos or songs that clock in at more than 2 minutes. Böttle Rät has got you covered. They blaze through a 19 song set of snotty, old school punk rock faster than you can finish your Iron City.
Make sure you pick up a copy of their debut LP All My Friends Are Animals on their bandcamp site!
Two band shows are pretty rad. Two band basement shows? Even better. Two band basement shows where you can go upstairs and play Mario Party between sets? HELL YES. Saturday night I headed out to Brookline to catch two awesome locals at Looking For Group (check out our interview with co-founder Brayton Batson). I also ran into roaming Punksburgh correspondent Ray Kolcun (of Crooked Cobras) and bullied him into sharing his thoughts on each band.

Latecomer is a four piece punk rock band from Pittsburgh. While some bands have a hard time finding one vocalist, all four members of Latecomer sing. If you make one of their shows they’ll likely tell you they didn’t practice, and probably won’t have their merch out on the table.
- Rich–guitar and vocals

- Mike–bass and vocals
Q) You’ve been posting about self-producing your third album. How has that process been going?
A) Overall it’s been a really good process. We have tracked rhythm and drums so far and are about half way done. Self producing is letting us have a lot more control over the process. There is no money on the line, so it is a lot less stessful and there’s no real time crunch. We are going to redo the bass tracking, and we definitely couldn’t afford to do that if we weren’t self producing.
